All-Stars of the past present and future

How different it was! This years All Star game was far from what we have seen in many years. There was not a battle between the top dominating teams of MLB. It was instead a battle between two complete equal leagues. It was not a battle between the top veteran players, but a combination of them and the up and coming players. There were not the many home runs, so there was no controversy over juiced baseballs. It was instead, a game played the old fashioned way, where strategy played part, and the pitchers ruled. There was not a ‘Barry Bonds’ to come through to tie the game. It was a rookie, Even Longoria, who tied the game and sent it to extra innings. It was a game that honored the past stars during the pregame, and was played by the present and future. Now if you wanted the homeruns, what a show Josh Hamilton put on in the home run derby. Hamilton, an inspiration to many players and fans, turned around his life and baseball career just a couple years ago. Hamilton hit 28 out of Yankee Stadium in the first round, including a lace buster of 518 ft. For those who say some records will never be broken, and there will never be another player as good as some we have now. Here they were, playing side by side, the players of today along with the players of tomorrow. Oh, and tomorrow folks, is looking pretty good.
